Men’s World Cup Hockey Trophy Tour Rally

Jharsuguda: Collector Saroj Kumar Samal said that hosting the World Cup of Hockey is a matter of pride and happiness for our state.On the occasion of Men’s World Cup Hockey the media representatives were informed about the road show in Jharsuguda and World Cup opening ceremony to be held in Cuttack on 11th January in a press conference.

The hockey world cup trophy will reach to the city on the next 4th january at Kherual bridge and then  trophy will be exibited at various places along the road from Badmal street, Sunarimunda street, Sarbahal government high school, Anand World, Manmohan School, Railway Station, Bus Stand, Bandheimunda and Kolabira block headquarter.

The trophy will be handed over to Deogarh district administration in Malidihi. The opening ceremony of the Hockey World Cup to be held in Cuttack on 11th. In the same way, the inauguration ceremony will be displayed through LEDs in the important places of every municipal area.

The hockey match will be shown through LEDs in the district festival to be held from 14th to 18th January. If the Indian team enters the semi-finals that match and the match to be held on the 13th and the final match will be shown through LEDs.

On the occasion of World Cup Hockey, various sports competitions have been organized in the panchayats at the community level. Block level competitions will be held from 3rd to 5th while district level athletics and sports competitions will be held from 14th to 16th.

Similarly, while the block level competitions of the schools are over, the district level competitions will be held between January 6 and January 10.

PD DRDA Tapiram Majhi informed about the various programs to be organized at the Panchayat level in the organized conference. Similarly, Odisha Hockey Association Vice President Jeevan Mohanty and DIPRO Ajay Jena informed about the preparation of the road show. District Hockey Association Secretary and ADM(Rev) Lankeshwar Amat expressed vote of thanks. Various media representatives including District Sports Officer Sushil Mishra, DPEO Dambrudhar Pujari, Prajwal Patel were present at the press meet.
