Yuva Brahman XI wins the Season-2 Brahman Premier League Trophy
Jharsuguda : In the final match of Brahman Premier League Season-2 tournament organized by Jharsuguda Brahman Samaj, Yuva Brahman XI won the trophy after defeating Maharaja Warriors.
In this Tournament a total of 4 teams had participated in this cricket league tournament which was held at the rice mill ground located near Gaushala road. The final match was played between Yuva Brahman XI and Maharaja Warriors. Batting first, Maharaja Warriors had scored a total of 53 runs in the stipulated 10 overs and were all out. Shovit Awasthy from Yuva Brahman Team had gave a spectacular bowling spell due to which the Maharaj Warriors had to be restricted at 53 runs.
Chasing the target, Yuva Brahman XI team achieved the target very comfortably by losing only 1 wicket in just 4 overs.
Apart from this, a match of 45 plus category and a special match were also played in which many elders of the Brahman Samaj had participated and showed their talent in sports. In the special match, Jhanda Chowk XI defeated Maharaja XI.
In the prize distribution ceremony, Balgobind Mishra along with senior members of the samaj, were the chief guest. The winning team was awarded Rs 5100 and a trophy and the runner-up team was awarded with Rs 3100 and a trophy.
Abhishek Shukla was awarded as Man of the Tournament and Shovit Awasthy as Man of the Match. On this occasion Sandeep Awasthi, Mukesh Mishra, Sushil Tiwari, Prakash Mishra, Raju Mishra, Atul Shukla, Manoj Mishra and many senior citizens along with former Ranji player Sohan De, Mehtab Khan, District Cricket Association president Prajwal Patel and Prashant Jena were also honored.
Prajwal Patel, Aryan Tiwari, Om Singh and Jatin Rajak served as umpires in the match. In the award distribution ceremony, everyone unanimously praised the youth and Senior members of the Samaj including Siddharth Awasthy, Sanjeev Tiwari, Shailesh Awasthi and Atul Shukla and other youths for maintaining the unity and mutual love of the society.
On this occasion, many members of the Brahman Women’s Committee were honored for their remarkable social work and many senior women were also honored. A large number of women and children of the Brahman samaj were also present.
