Fruits Distribution by Khawaza Garib Nawaz Welfare Trust at Dist. Hospital


Jharsuguda : On the Occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi , members of Khawaza Garib Nawaz Welfare Trust had  distributed fruits and sweets at District Headquarter Hospital the birthday celebration of Hazrat Mohammad(SAW) (PBUH). In this Mirza Arshad Beg (President of KGNWT), Mohammad Irshad (President of Masjid ul Hadeed) Zahid Qureshi (Secretary, Masjid ul Hadeed) & other member of trust and Sadar Masjid were present during the distribution. This is the second year that khwaja gharib nawaz welfare trust done this social welfare work.


Blanket Distributed to the Needy by Lioness Club of Jharsuguda Titans


Jharsuguda : Lioness Club of Jharsuguda Titans under Dist 322c2 had distributed 200 woollen blankets to the needy at Jharsuguda railway station at 9pm after identifying the genuine requirement of the deprived old aged people sitting on different platforms and around the area. The event was organised by the Charter President: Kavita Badhan,Vice President: Purva Singh,Sonia Sharma,Priya Khandelwal,Rupal Shah,Nishma Arora,Smita Jaiswal,Trupti Attal Along with many others were present

“Halla Bol” Campaign in association with Jharsuguda Police launched by Lioness Club of Jharsuguda Titans


Jharsuguda :  The Lioness Club of JSG Titans under District 322 C2 organised an Eve Teasing Campaign “Halla Bol” in association with the Jharsuguda police which was inaugurated by the  Jharsuguda SP, Dr Uma Shankar Das at Jhanda Chowk on Wednesday. This project shall continue from 14th Oct till 21st Oct during Navratri at 3 different locations like Bigbazaar, Jhanda Chowk and Main road with help desks under surveillance by the police dept. Its an effort to safeguard women from street Comments and harassment through a 24×7 Police Helpline Numbers
On this Occasion senior members Shri Arjun More, Shri Balgobind Mishra, Shri Shankarlal Shah , Shri Sandeep Awasthy, Shri Kallu Shah and Shri Sanjay Lodha along with various other social organisations  were present and encouraged this noble endeavor of Charter President Kavita Badhan, Secretary – Priya Khandelwal, Project Directors Purva Singh, Smita Jaiswal and the entire team of Lioness Club of JSG Titans were present.

Lions Club of Jharsuguda Titans unveiled its flagship Project “Muktidham”


Jharsuguda : Lions Club of Jharsuguda Titans, a social Organization unveiled its flagship “Project Muktidham” in its Charter Ceremony event held on 31stAugust 2015 at Utkal Continental, Sarbahal.

The Chief Guest of this function was Jual Oram, the hon’able union Minister for Tribal Affairs,  along with the Guest of Honor Rajeev Nayan, Sr. VP of Vedanta Aluminum, Jharsuguda.

On this occasion, the Charter members along with the Chairperson, Ln. Ashok Jalan, Dist. Governor of Dist. 322 and Past Dist. President, Ln. Harjeet Singh Hura with several other distinguished guests were present in the function.

The function started with the welcoming of the Chief Guest. In this event, the “Project Muktidham” was unveiled. “Project Muktidham” the beautification of the Cemetery Ground near Sarbahal. By this Project the Place had been developed by building necessary facilities like building sheds, beautification of the building and place, construction of roads and etc.

4th Installation of Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Royal held, Rajesh Agrawal elected as President for the year 2015-16


Jharsuguda: The installation ceremony of the new team of Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Royal for the Rotary Year 2015-2016 was held on Sunday Morning at Utkal Jyoti, Cox Colony. The new team includes President Rajesh Agrawal and Arun Mundra as Secretary. The meeting was presided by Suresh Kumar Tulshyan.

In this event, The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Uma Shankar Dash, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda. The ceremony was little different as the installation was done along with specially-abled children’s of Asha Kiran & District Disabled School.

Taking the responsibilities as the new president, Rajesh Agrawal seemed rather happy even as friends kept congratulating him. Agrawal said, “I’m really delighted because I now have a chance to give back something to the society. New team was installed by District Governor Harjit Singh Hura.

Pawan Shah becomes the President of Utkal Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan’s Jharsuguda Branch


Jharsuguda : Utkal Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan , a non – political Social organization with an aim to improve the overall well being of the Marwari society at large as well as the development of state and Country by helping in welfare of handicapped , discourage of drug-abuse , promotion of blood –donation , development of sports and other various related developmental work, Today inaugurated  Jharsuguda branch at Hotel Mohini Royale. In this occasion, Pawan Shah was being selected as the President of the current year along with Sanjay Lodha who will be the Secretary.

In a Oath taking ceremony held today in presence of the chief guest of the event Shyam sundar Agarwal, Guest of Honour Shubash Sitani , Jagdish Golpuria, and Naval Agrawal.

The function started with lighting of lamp and welcome song sung by the members of the Marwari Mahila Samiti. Later the working committees of this association were also being asked to take oath, which was done by Shubhash Sitaniji.

Jharsuguda Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Royal’s Sponsors Karate Kids for the Participating in State Level Tournaments


Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Royal on Thursday had Sponsored Jharsuguda Karate Kids for the Participating in State Level Tournaments which is going to be held in Badbil.

In this Occasion, the President Sajjid Hussain along with the Secretary Kishan Agrawal and Suresh Tulshyan had expressed their concern over the issue of children belonging from backward class having quality skills but they unable to pursue and excel due to financial constraint. Due which, the Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Royal have sponsored them for the upcoming event and wished them Best of Luck for the event.

OPGC distributes life jacket for travellers crossing Hirakud reservoir on boat

Jharsuguda : OPGC (Orissa Power Generation Corporation) today distributed fifty life jackets  at the Tilia Ghat for the safety of travellers who commute daily to and from Sambalpur crossing Hirakud reservoir on boats.

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team of OPGC lead by Umakant Pahi, Head (EHS) reached at the ghat early in the morning and briefed the passengers and boat operators on the usefulness of life jacket in saving lives.

Safety of each and every individual working in OPGC is the primary goal and it is the first and foremost of a set of values we follow at OPGC, Mr. Pahi said. “With this small step of providing life jackets, we want to expand and propagate our values by setting an example so that more agencies come forward to help saving lives of people who do such risky journey”, he said.

Sarat Chandra Nayak, Dy. Manager (EHS) gave a demonstration on the use of life jacket and advised the boat operators to ensure use of these jackets by the passengers. Later each passenger was given a life jackets each to wear before boarding the boat.

The jackets shall be in the custody of the boat operators who shall ensure use of those by passengers every time. Among others, Mr. Rahul Dev, Dy. Manager (Environment), Mr. Nitya Kar, Asst. Manager(EHS), Mr. Sudhir Behera, Asst. Manager(Administration), Mr. Prashant Hota and Mr. Maheswar Prusty joined from OPGC.

BTM Jagannath Mandir Prathista Utsav from 26th April onwards

Jharsuguda : Newly constructed BTM Jagannath Mandir Prathista Utsav wouls start from 26th April onwards, this was informed in a press conference held by the members of the Temple Committee on Sunday evening. As per the programme given 26th April would have Ankur Rupan , 27th will be Jal yatra , 28th will be Surya Pujan and 29th April will be Purna ahuti. All these days from 26th – 29th April. The puja will commence from morning 7 AM to 9 PM. For this function, the temple members had pleaded Gajapati Raja to come be a part of this utsav but due to some unavoidable work , he is unable to be present in this auspicious event.

However, Puri’s Shri Acharya Surjaya Narayan Das and Jhanja’s Pita Matha’s Shri Sachinanda Maharaj will come and deliver the Parwachan.

This temple took around 12 years to be constructed. Earlier, here in BTM Lord Jagannath was being worshiped in a small Quarter . The Temple Committee members Mohan Chandra Bhol, S.N. Paschayat, Bijay Ch. Das, Naresh Singh (President) , Satrughan Parida and Keshav Dhala were present in the Press Conference.

Eagle Group dedicate their Holiday to serve commuters


Jharsuguda : As the Industrial town is getting hotter and hotter day by day, its making life difficult to the commuters to travel from one place to other in this Hot Sunny Day. The members of Eagle Group being an employee of an Pvt. firm had dedicated their holiday for serving people on Sunday.

Around 15 members of this Group had opened Jal Chatra Programme (Water Shed) near Radhamadhab Temple , Beheramal. The President of the Radha Madhab Temple trust had serve the people with cold Butter Milk and Cold Jaljeera Water to the Commuters.
