Navigational Instrument DVOR to be commissioned from 5th August

JHARSUGUDA: The Doppler Very High-Frequency Omni Directional Range (DVOR) will be commissioned and put to use for the flight operations from 5th August 2019.

The equipment was installed in February and has been tested for air and ground calibration by the Flight Inspection Unit of Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Jharsuguda Airport Director Sudesh Kumar Chauhan said that “After its commissioning, the minimum visibility criteria shall be reduced to 2300 meters from 5000 meters. Notice of Airmen (NOTAM) in this regard has already taken by AAI. “
