Police Dog Pluto dies

Jharsuguda : It was a sad day for the Jharsuguda Police Department in Jharsuguda on Saturday, as police officials sobbed at the demise of Pluto, a service dog of the Dog Squad of Jharsuguda Police.

According to Dog Squad official Sanjeev, who was handling Pluto, the 10-year-old Labrador died of age-related illness. Pluto was inducted by the Police Department in 25th November 2011,when it was nearly eight months old. After completing a training at National Training Centre for dog in Gwalior, it was inducted into the Dog Squad of the Jharsuguda Police.

Sanjeev, the master said that its tracking skills helped the Police Department detect several cases as well as provide security at high-profile events involving Chief Ministers and VVIPs not only in Jharsuguda but even in Sundargarh etc. The faithful canine served the department for 7.5 years, he added.

As of now, the Jharsuguda Police Dog Squad doesn’t have any dog now.
