Jharsuguda : A business family from Jharsuguda donated relief material of Rs 5.8 lakh to the victims of cyclonic storm Fani.  Ashok Yadav and his brother, Amit Yadav, both of the owners of a renowned hotel of the industrial town of Western Odisha cancelled their family vacation trip to Himachal Pradesh, which they had planned a month ago, and instead spent the sum in providing relief material to the affected people.

As per Ashok, “As the vacation was planned a month ago, all the family members were also excited for the trip to Himachal Pradesh this year. Even, our flight tickets were booked for Delhi from Raipur Airport. We were scheduled to leave on 3rd May 2019 at 11:05 am. But after reaching Raipur and knowing about the Cyclone Fani’s effect on the television, the horrific scenes moved me and I felt of dropping the plan of vacation and rather wanted to contribute something to it. I shared this thought with my family including my wife, children and younger brother, who also felt the same and supported my decision. We returned home on the same day from Raipur and planned that we would donate relief material worth the total money spent on our vacation(Rs. 2.5 Lakh), additionally we added around Rs. 3.3Lakh of materials to distribute it among the affected people.

The relief materials were sent on Monday, which is taken personally by the younger brother Amit.

Amit Yadav along with his friends who also accompanied him to puri for distributing the relief material to the affected people.

On the telephonic conservation, on the way to Puri,  Amit said,” As soon as my elder brother told about his decision, I supported his decision and arranged all the relief materials and told him that I will take the relief material and would distribute it to the victims personally. For this, even my few friends have joined and currently, we are heading to Puri.”

“As it was a couple of years since we had gone out for any family vacation, we were excited but as soon as my father showed us the news of Cyclone and decided to cancel the trip I too supported his thought of extending a small help to the affected people.” said Abhiruchi, 17 years old daughter of Ashok Yadav.
