Jharsuguda : The women voters at the pink booth at Beheramal in the district headquarters town in Jharsuguda was greeted with a red rose, which went to polls in the second phase on Thursday.
The women voters who had made a beeline were very enthusiastic about casting their votes at this pink booth set up at Beheramal Ashram School, which was completely managed by women. The booth was also open for the men too.
“I had voted last year but, this year’s arrangement is completely different and I like it as we didn’t face any problem and had all the facilities in place including help by the volunteers.” said a women voter Anita Nag
Another women voter Deepika said “All arrangement is nicely done, everyone helped us and all the information wanted by us has been provided and even we were welcomed by a red rose flower, which made us feel happy.”
“Arrangements made here for us, Specially the red rose which was given to us was a very nice step to encourage us to vote.” said Garisha Raj Sharma, voter of Beheramal.
The assembly segments where such booth was set up were Jharsuguda and Brajrajnagar under Bargarh Loksabha Constituency.
Jharsuguda Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Das said, “The main idea behind setting up the pink booths was to encourage more and more women participants to franchise their votes. ”
