School van accident, 2 injured

Jharsuguda : A six-year-old student and a driver of a Tata Magic got injured when it was hit by a truck on NH – 49 near Kanaktura Chowk area on Wednesday afternoon.

As per the police, At 12 o’clock on Wednesday, A Tata Magic  (OD – 23 A 0379), carrying school children from Saraswati Shishu Mandir School, Kanaktura towards Badimal, when the van was hit by a Truck (CG-13D-8709) going towards Chhattisgarh. Due to the collision, the Tata Magic driver along with one student who was sitting on the front had been stuck inside the van and which was later rescued by the local resident by cutting the Van from the gas cutter.

The victim was identified as the Sanat Bagarti (25), the driver of the Tata Magic along with a 6 years old student Jigar Pradhan (6years), a resident of Badimal both have received injuries on the legs and have been shifted to Metro Hospital at Raigarh.

Following the accident, few student sitting on the back had also received minor injuries. They were sent to Lakhanpur PHC where they were given first aid and were later sent to their respective home.

Kanaktura Police Out post-ASI, Jogeshwar Sahu said that” The driver and one six-year-old student has been shifted to Metro Hospital at Raigarh (C.G.) for Medical treatment and rest students who were travelling were treated at Lakahnpur PHC and were sent to their home. We have detained the truck and its driver”
