Jharsuguda : In a bid to improve the sanitation condition in the market places of Jharsuguda Town, Jharsuguda Municipal corporation will launch a “Swachh Bazaar” Campaign. The civic body has convent a preparatory meeting for this purpose on Saturday.
Under the “Aamara Sahar, Aamara Garv, Swachh Bazaar campaign,” A special cleanliness drive will be taken out by the Jharsuguda Municipality for educating shop keepers about the segregation and collection of the waste at the market places like vegetable market, fish markets etc.
These markets generate huge quantities of waste and due to improper management of such waste leads to public health problems.
“Heaps of such waste are generally seen all over the market place and remained uncollected for days together due to which it starts rotting and creates very unhygienic conditions especially in the raining seasons,” said Sanjay Panigrahi, a regular visitor of Vegetable market
“As it was preparatory meeting, we have formed the various committee in which members from Market Association, members from Local NGO, Ward Councilor and members of Youth Clubs are present. Later, we would identify the spot and location to install the dust bins as suggested by the committee followed by an orientation and demonstration meeting to discuss the procedure and importance of segregation,” said Ram Chandra Pradhan, Executive Officer, Jharsuguda Municipality.
Jharsuguda Municipality Chairman Harish Ganatra said that “We will continue our effort to make Jharsuguda Town into a Clean Town. For making this “Swachh Bazaar campaign” smooth. We will introduce 40 trolley rickshaw dedicatedly for the collection of these garbage along with the segregation facility very soon.”
