11th National Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Gondwana Gond Mahasabha inaugurated by CM


Jharsuguda: More than 50,000 Gond Tribe had gathered together from all over country to attend the 11th National Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Gondwana Gond Mahasabha Organised by All Odisha Gond Mahasangha at B.T.M. Ground, Jharsuguda on Friday.

In this, people had come from Maharashtra, Chattishgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, UP, Delhi, Assam, West Bengal and Karnataka belonging to this tribe had attended this event.

“We are organizing this event because we felt that our contribution in India is becoming less due to various reasons, in these three days, we want to discuss about how we can preserve our culture and unite all the Gond people for their equal development.” said Shishupal Shori, President of Central Committee of Akhil Bharatiya Gondwana Gond Mahasabha.

The function was inaugurated by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. In this function Commerce and Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Brajrajanagar MLA Smt. Radha Rani Panda, Dr. Prabhash Kumar Singh, M.P. Bargarh, Brajrajnagar MLA Smt. Radharani Panda, Anup Sai (Chairman, Odisha Lift Irrigation), Kishore Kumar Mohanty, (Chairman, WODC) along with various other officials were present.

“We chose Jharsuguda because of the communication facility and also due to the presence of Gond family which is around 20,000 in numbers in Jharsuguda an adjoining areas.” Said by Mahendra Naik, President,  All Odisha Gond Mahasangha.

Naveen Patnaik while addressing the gathering said that “The Contribution of Gond People in the freedom fight during the British Rule has become one of the Glorious chapters of Indian History. We are giving more importance to the education for the development of Tribals. We are happy to know that our tribal children have been doing a great especially in the field of Sports.

Our commitment for their development will be continue. State Government has increased the fund of Biju KBK Yojana from 120 Cr. to 150 Cr. For the betterment for Tribal people and Tribal brothers and Sisters, our loyalty is and will always remain. I want to wish you a Happy New year.” said CM Naveen Patnaik

Earlier, CM had inaugurated the Purna Upgraded High School Building at Purna, along with Inauguration of 100 Seater Boys hostel Building of A.P. High School of Jamera and 100 Seater ST Girls hostel Building of Atabira Ashram School was also done at the same place
