Jharsuguda: Nearly 800 Engineering diploma students of Jharsuguda Engineering School located at Badheimunda today had boycotted the classes and locked the campus gates in protest against the principal’s decision for not holding JES Cup (Inter department sports) on Thursday.
They alleged that the principal has not allowed holding JES Cup (Inter Dept. Sports event). “We have continuously asked to hold this sports event but they always deny, Additionally, No sports equipments are provided but after purchasing our own equipment still they don’t allow us. Apart from this they have never took us for a Study Tour too, because of which today we have boycotted the classes.” said a third year student
The students called off their agitation after a meeting held with Principal of Dr. K. Choudhary. “We had already conducted an Annual Sports Meet on 30th – 31st January recently and as per the notification by the State Council for Technical Education on second week of February there is an Online Internal Assessment Examination for which it was postponed. However after the meeting, the students have agreed to hold this sports activity post assessment examinations.” said Jharsuguda Engg. School Principal Dr. Krutibas Choudhury
