District Level Job fair held, 406 job offers handed

Jharsuguda: For the benefit of unemployed youths in the district, the Jharsuguda Dist. Administration along with Dist. Employment Office has organized a two day District level Job Fair at Government Boys High School, Sarbahal from Friday onwards.

In this two days job fair around eleven Industries of the district i.e. Sesa Sterlite, Action Ispat and Power Limited, TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited, Concast Steel and Power Limited, L.N. Metallics Limited, MSP Metallics Limited, Ultra Tech Cement, SMC Power Generation Corporation, OPGC, Ind-Barath and Seven Star had taken part and handed over the appointments to 406 job aspirants on Friday. These candidates had been selected under Block Level Job Fairs conducted earlier this month.

As per the Jharsuguda Dist. Employment Officer Chintamani Mahananda, “This has been organized for the benefit of the unemployed youths and we have tried to give a platform where they can be directly employed with the Industries present in the district.” On the second day the selected candidates will be participate in counseling session given by various agency of State Employment Mission. He added

The event was inaugurated by Jharsuguda Dist. Collector Smt. Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, she said, “Some months back during brainstorming session we had come up with this idea of having Job fair due to the presence of several Industries in the district. So we thought of conducting this job fair under State Employment Mission, where we had selected 406 candidates from five blocks of the district who got job offers.”

photo_3However, Job seeker Lalit Ku. Behera, who received a job offer through TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited under a contractor,
says, “I am happy that I received a job offer but simultaneously if I had received a job offer directly under the company than it would have been better and secure.”

Industries officials has welcome this approach, L.R. Bhati, Sr. GM HR & Admin of Action Ispat and Power Ltd. says that, “It is very nice approach and through this organized way of appointment has helped us in getting a good quality of manpower for our Industries.”
