Jharsuguda: For the first time in Jharsuguda District, the students of Sarasati Shishu Mandir of Sarbahal had participated and celebrated this year’s Saraswati Puja in a unique way. This year they worshiped 108 Idols of Goddess Saraswati in the School premises with much pomp and fanfare.
This was the first time when such type of Puja was being organized in the district as claimed by the organizer, in which all the students along with their parents had jointly gathered at the school’s newly constructed premises at Sarbahal and had worshipped together. In this occasion, several parents, students and teachers of the school had actively taken part.
“On the occasion of our House Warming ceremony of our school , we had organized this Joint Puja where parents & Students had done the puja, We wanted to teach students how to worship and methods involved because these days children’s are attracted towards Western Culture so to Promote our culture this Puja was being celebrated.” Said Principal Narendra Biswal
Many Parents were also involved in this Puja among which Laxmi Narayan Mishra was the one who was chosen as the Karta, He says “I was very lucky that I got an opportunity to become the Karta of this year’s Saraswati Puja” He was chosen to become Karta through a lottery system by the school Management.
“Being Saraswati Shishu Mandir, the name itself has the word Saraswati, this year we wanted to celebrate in a unique way, as per Hindu tradition Children’s were made as a Karta, in which children’s had participated and had recited hymns together.” said Subrat Tripathy, secretary of Saraswati Shishu Mandir’s School Committee.
“Being parent I like the initiative taken by the school management, it in turns help our children to remain culturally connected” says Smt. Madhusmita Mishra, a parent.
