Jharsuguda: To pressurize the UPA government at Centre to accord special category status (SCS) to Odisha, the members of Jharsuguda BJD wing had staged hunger strike in front of Jharsuguda, Brajrajnagar and Belpahar Municipality & in various Block Offices in the district from Monday onwards. The protest is a part of the party’s state-wide campaign against the Congress-led government UPA government.
Ex-Speaker and Jharsuguda Dist. President of BJD, Kishore Ku. Mohanty said that, “We have been demanding for special category status (SCS) for Odisha for a long time, for which now we are observing hunger strike from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. Additionally, we want to tell Central UPA Government that BJD Party always believe in peace. So, we are holding our protest in peaceful manner. But if the demand is not fulfilled then in coming days then the protest will be intensified.”
