Jharsuguda: Sushant Tirkey , Goalkeeper of Indian Junior Hockey Team along with Aman Miraj Tirkey forward player reached Jharsuguda Station after returning from the 2nd International Junior Hockey Tournament played at Malaysia also known as Sultan Johar cup 2012 . In this tournament six countries namely Germany, Australia, Pakistan, Malaysia and New Zealand had participated among which the Indian Junior Hockey Team was the Runners up. In this tournament Germany emerged champions of the 2nd Edition of the Sultan Johor Cup after defeating India by 3-2 at the Taman Daya Hockey Stadium.
Sushant Tirkey who was honoured as the Best Goalkeeper of the entire tournament. Indian Hockey Team has also awarded 1 Lakh rupees for his excellent performance. Both players have arrived Jharsuguda station from Delhi and were headed towards their home town situated at Sundergarh.
They were been welcomed by the Asst. Director of Sports Akhil Bihari Dash along with Rourkela’s Panposh Sports Hostel Hockey Coach Amulya Nand Bihari who accompanied the players to their home.
